Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted at Broke and Bookish Here is what they have to say: Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created here at The Broke and the Bookish. This meme was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!

Each week we will post a new Top Ten list complete with one of our bloggers answers. Everyone is welcome to join. All we ask is that you link back to The Broke and the Bookish on your own Top Ten Tuesday post AND sign Mister Linky at the bottom to share with us and all those who are participating. If you don't have a blog, just post your answers as a comment. Don't worry if you can't come up with ten every time..just post what you can!

This week they are looking for our favorite, cozy reading spots. My list is short, I'm sure there are more that I could come up with if pressed, but I'd be grasping at straws. I read alot while waiting for meetings or appointments- but that doesn't mean it's my favorite place to read. So, here are my Top Four Most Comfy Places to Read:

A Comfy Couch- my couch looks sort of like this, only much, much more beat up and used. I do most of my reading curled up on the couch, tucked under a blanket, with a bag of chips and some soda on the end table. My couch, which has been with me for like 7 years now, even boasts a lovely saggy spot where I usually sit. I'm sure that the spot it thoroughly ruined for anyone else who tries to sit there, but it has been worn into the perfect spot for me to park my butt when I want to read.

In a bubble bath- my tub looks nothing like this. It would be awesome if it did, but my tub is still rocking the 70's powder blue look. It's in desperate need of an update and looks to be replaced by the soon to be completed 2nd bath, which sports a jacuzzi tub. However, for now powder blue is still first string for all bubble baths. It's ugly and small, but I won't hold that against it (too much) since it still allows me to warm up, get clean and enjoy a good book. The 70's blue tub is nothing if not a multi-tasker.

In Wyoming- that's kind of a broad statement, but a true one. Every year or so we make a pilgrimmage to Wyoming, specifically to Yellowstone and the Tetons. It is, to be honest, my favorite place in the whole world. I love to read while I'm there, on the hood of my car a Schwabacher's Landing, at a pull off in Hayden Valley, on the banks of the Madison, on the sandbar in Cascade Canyon. With my camera next to me, and the most beautiful views to be had in the world, this is my favorite place to read.

In bed- again, my bed looks nothing like this one. My bed is old and it really, really needs a new mattress (Santa? You listening?) Still, there's something fun about climbing into bed, getting all tucked in and pulling out a good book. I've even gone so far as to bust out the flashlight middle school styles so that my reading won't keep everyone else awake.

  1. Yay! Another person who loves to read in a bubble bath. It's the most relaxing thing in the world, isn't it?

  2. Great places! I would read in the bath, but I'm more of a shower girl. I haven't quite figured out how to read in the shower, hehe!

  3. My husband manages to read the paper in the shower- it has to do with where you aim the shower head (lower back). I've tried and failed- but it can be done!

  4. Hehe, I feel like if I ever read in the bath I would drop the book! Couches and bed, it's a lazy day isn't it? :D

  5. Bubble bath! My favorite! I have decided that when I get my house I am making sure there is a HUGE tub. My tub now is for midgets apparently. I'm all cramped in it!
